Central Alberta Medical Imaging Services has been providing the David Thompson Health Region and Central Alberta with diagnostic imaging services for over 35 years. In 2001, the physicians of Central Alberta Medical Imaging Services, CAMIS, had a vision to provide public health care in a state of the art facility. That vision became reality in February 2004. The CAMIS diagnostic medical imaging center is located at 4312 54th Avenue in Central Red Deer. Our office is easily accessible from Highway 2 and we have free parking. Our office provides a modern, comfortable, spacious environment for patients waiting for and undergoing diagnostic examinations.

CAMIS provides magnetic resonance imaging, ultrasound, bone mineral densitometry, mammography, echocardiography, nuclear medicine, pain management and general radiography procedures. Digital images at CAMIS are stored on a PACS or Picture Archival Communication System. This means physicians can view the images on a computer anywhere in the world. Security of patient information is paramount to our operation and we have had a privacy impact assessment approved by the Alberta government to ensure we are complying with the Health Information Act.

CAMIS radiologists are all board certified and the imaging staff are all registered in their various disciplines. Our focus is to provide professional, efficient and quality imaging while keeping patient care as the priority. We strive to maintain a high level of access to imaging procedures and report turn around time to your physician.
